  • YIC Session at EuroBio Lille
Fiscal Policy of Innovation: the French YIC status and its European equivalents.

Since its launch in 2004, France's "Young Innovative Company" (YIC) fiscal status has been a runaway success, with over 1600 of the country's privately-owned hi-tech companies benefiting from a range of tax exemptions and reduced salary overheads for research-focused staff. The resulting savings have been reinvesting by purchasing R&D equipment and initiating collaborative projects, with a corresponding knock-on effect on innovation and business competitiveness. Other European countries have adopted (or are due to adopt) this type of fiscal policy on innovation. This seminar features Europe-wide feedback from entrepreneurs and guidance from institutional experts.
